As some of you know, I've spent the last 3 years teaching data visualization and storytelling at the University of Chicago and at DePaul University.
Teaching helped me understand data visualization at a much deeper level and made me realize how diverse this discipline truly is. Did you know that data visualization is being taught across journalism, computer science, business, design, and psychology departments?
With the goal to explore this diversity and learn from it, I interviewed 6 professors about why and how they teach data visualization.
In the process, I also got some new ideas for exercises that I will integrate in upcoming Vizlogue workshops.
